Nearing end of first semester

Some happy accidents emerged from my lazer cutting session.

I didnt not think about the hexagonal centres which fell out of my triaxial frames.

Reminiscent of petri dishes they highlight fragments of weaves as specimens, and further play with translucency.

A few more rusting samples and hanks also worked a treat.

Here is one of my sustainably-mapped samples being rusted, turns out even the synthetic fibres such as Nylon could not resist being rusted. I expected at least one of the 8 fibres used to resist the iron oxide.

The hanks after the rusting process, spun onto cones.
