Outdoor Sculpture, November
With winter fast taking hold of Belfast it’s getting harder and harder for Kate and I to motivate ourselves to go out into the freezing forest, but earlier this week we finally managed to find the time and trooped down to the Lagan Meadows to install our rope structures temporarily.
The beautiful low lighting and bare branches made it much easier for weaving rope in and out of the trees; gaining the surreal, dream like effect I aspire to capture while creating these shapes, aided by long shadows and orange tints.
Above you can see Kate in action!
Other than artistic purposes these outings are very relaxing and fulfilling due to the interaction with nature and the physical involvement of lugging all that rope around. More to come soon.
